Add a pop of color to your pocket with a Los Angeles Palm Trees Pocket Square. The image on this pocket square is of the palm trees in Los Angeles, California.

The iconic palm trees in Southern California have been a gorgeous mainstay since as early as the 18th century. The first ornamental palms were planted by Spanish missionaries for whom they had both practical and symbolic dimensions. Palm tress are a famously biblical plant and their fronds are used during Palm Sunday and Ash Wednesday observances. Although Palm Trees originated in Europe during the Victorian era encapsulating the Victorian ideals of exploration and conquest, as Los Angeles rapidly grew, city planners set out to beautify the streets and leveraged palm trees as a cheaper alternative to grander, classic trees like the magnolia while still impressing a sense of grandeur and luxury. Additionally, the southern California heat offered the ideal climate for palm trees to thrive.
